Original Scandinavian style apartment design

At one time, climatic conditions and mentality peculiarities left certain prints on the Scandinavian style in the interior. Residents of the Scandinavian countries have always sought to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere in their homes, with the obligatory use of natural materials, not only as a sign of respect for nature, but also from a practical point of view. Bright rooms with the necessary set of furniture and appliances, simple and light shapes and lines, natural shades and natural materials - all this is a Scandinavian style.

Modern Scandinavian style differs from the traditional one mainly in the choice of decor. Original, but practical pieces of furniture, design elements of rich colors are designed not only to diversify the palette of the room, but also to give it personality.

We offer you a short tour of a modern Scandinavian-style apartment. Given that this style is simple and logical, calmly refers to the use of practical furniture of mass production and is unpretentious in decorating, you can easily be inspired by this nice and fresh design project, devoid of pretentiousness and excesses. When decorating your home or apartment, you can easily use the basic principles of the Scandinavian style, adding decor at your discretion - traditional or avant-garde.

We begin our tour with one of the key, in terms of traffic, premises of the apartment - the hall. The space in the form of a hexagon gives a more rounded shape to the central element - a large soft seat in the shape of a circle with a base. From this unusual building you can get into several rooms of the apartment. A light beige palette of finishes (as in many Scandinavian-style rooms) creates a pleasant, warm atmosphere. Given the large flow of traffic in this room, a contrasting bright tile for flooring was not chosen by chance.

The indispensable use of wood (or its imitation) in the interior of the Scandinavian stylistic movement was reflected in the design of a large central chandelier.

From the hall you can easily get into the kitchen, combined with the dining room. On the example of this incredibly functional room, you can see how Scandinavian style gravitates to practicality, how much it appreciates the basic functions of objects and entire segments of the space of a home. The bright finish of the kitchen in this case meets the same gamut of the kitchen set and dining group. Only works of art on the walls dilute the palette and introduce an element of surprise - not in every kitchen you can see pictures.

But the Scandinavian style does not do without interesting design decisions, an unusual detail. Instead of the already traditional lighting of built-in lamps, wall lights of an original design were mounted to illuminate the kitchen working surfaces.

In the dining area there is a soft sofa in neutral colors. Particular attention in the Scandinavian style is given to textiles - cotton and linen fabrics are at the top of the list of preferred fabrics. Naturalness is welcomed in everything from the design of window openings and ending with covers for sofa cushions. From the kitchen-dining room there is access to a spacious balcony.

The original detail of the dining group (in addition to various models of chairs of the original design) was the samovar, apparently as a symbol of warmth and coziness for the difficult northern climate. A similar functional decor is understandable to the Russian homeowner. A contrasting living room is visible from the kitchen-dining room, which can be accessed both from the central hall and the kitchen.

Against the light palette of the room, the dark stars of the accent wall look especially in contrast. Dark tones for harmony are used for a leather sofa and some elements of furniture and appliances.

Contrast and dynamics reign in this room. The use of various models of furniture within the same room brings not only originality to the interior, but also makes it more interesting and elegant. Such dissimilar objects find themselves in absolute harmony thanks to thoughtful combinatorics and the neutrality of the finish on all surfaces, which provides bright elements with the opportunity to come to the fore.

Obviously, the owners of the apartment love not only to enjoy the fine arts, but also respect the music. In the living room there was a place for installing the piano, which very organically fit into the interesting, but not artsy interior of the room.

Despite the fact that the room has a lot of furniture and decor, the living room does not look cluttered. Air, space and freshness are present in every square meter, leaving freedom not only for movement, but also for self-awareness in the room for the whole family.

Next are the private rooms and the first of them is the master bedroom of the home. Once again, the simplicity and functionality of the Scandinavian interior takes precedence over embellishment and excessive decoration, leaving only practicality and convenience. Only a luxurious chandelier with glass elements against a dark accent wall reminds us of luxury.

From the bedroom you can get into a fairly spacious bathroom with a shower. Light wall decoration with glossy "metro" tiles contrasts with a checkerboard pattern in white and blue colors. It is not surprising that in such a practical room as a bathroom, special attention is paid to the functionality of the space for water and sanitary procedures.

Near the bathroom for parents, there is another room for water treatments - for children. It is logical that this bathroom does not have a shower, but there is a bathtub. The same glossy ceramic tiles were used to decorate this room, only in the "chess" on the floor the blue tiles were replaced with an ocher shade.

And the last room on our Scandinavian-style apartment tour is the nursery. Against the background of light finishes and furniture, decor items and paintings on the walls look especially bright. Colorful Roman curtains bring color diversity to the room of a children's room. A bunk bed with storage systems compactly occupies one of the walls of the room, leaving a significant part of the space for games and creativity.
